In a recent estimate, it has been calculated that the Milton Keynes based team have spent as much as two-thirds of its development budget in the 2022 season so far. The Red Bull despite of having a strong package, started its season with reliability issues. After the completion of five rounds of the season, most of the upgrades have been targeted to make the car more reliable.

Last race weekend in Miami, Max Verstappen grabbed the victory for Red Bull. The Ferrari boss, Mattia Binotto in a post race interview spoke about being happy-disappointed. The disappointment aspect was due to not winning the Miami race, but the Happy aspect lied as the Ferrari was highly competitive without introducing any upgrades. The Italian team are still running the majority of the package, it brought to the first race of the season.

The Ferrari are said to bring its initial upgrades for the season at the next race at Barcelona. On the other hand, the Austrian racing stable have spent 75% of the ten million dollars allotted to upgrades. Both teams remain locked in a season long battle, but the Ferrari by not revealing its hand so early in the season might just be ahead of its rival.
