The entire Formula 1 paddock along with numerous fans await the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Grand Prix slated to be held in late November is anticipated as a grand celebration for the fans. Albon, currently at Williams, however points out how the drivers might not be able to extract the best out of the city.
“I think for us as drivers we don’t get to see that much. We’re kind of… hotel, circuit, and then airport. Vegas is not the last race of the season, unfortunately, so I don’t think we can celebrate it quite like the fans”, said Albon. Alex also referred to the ‘half-American’ ownership of Williams after being acquired by Dorilton Capital, an American firm.
“It’s an important race for us as a team, being, you know, you could almost say half-American.” Alex Albon confesses that he’s looking forward to the race and expects it to be a ‘cool’ Grand Prix despite him not be able to celebrate it in the Vegas way.

Daniel Ricciardo jokingly claims 98% credit for the Las Vegas GP
Danny Ric foreshadowed the upcoming Las Vegas GP back in 2017 and now hilariously demands 98% credit for it. Back in 2017, Lewis Hamilton and Ricciardo were asked the same question at a press conference. The question was about where the two drivers would like the sport to race in the future. Lewis answered Miami while the then Red Bull driver replied Vegas, excitedly. Both their wishes seem to have come true and Formula 1 is headed to the Sin City for the highly anticipated Grand Prix.
Ricciardo is currently injured following his crash at the Dutch GP. The Australian hopes to get back to racing when the famous Vegas Strip is lit-up by Formula 1 monsters in November.
Daniel Ricciardo was asked by P1 with Matt and Tommy a fan question about how excited he is for the race. The current AlphaTauri driver replied, “Coming to existence, I think it was 2017 I asked for it, Look, I don’t want to claim everything but I’ll claim like 98% of it, yeah.”
