Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc pulled off a stellar one-stop strategy to win the 2024 Italian Grand Prix starting from P4. Leclerc’s performance has been praised by many, including McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, who finished as the runner-up in Monza.

Charles Leclerc has been on a consistent run of form since the Belgian GP, amassing consecutive podiums until Monza. The Maranello-based team arrived at their homeland with new upgrades in the SF-24. It’s safe to say the team’s bet worked wonders for Leclerc, who amassed his second win of the season.

Oscar Piastri thereafter conversed with the Monegasque driver, in which, he praised the latter’s efforts. Piastri chased Leclerc for the win until the very end of the race, only to miss out by a small margin of 2.6 seconds.

The 26-year-old’s win has taken him to a total of 217 points in the driver’s championship. He will now celebrate a hard-earned victory at the infamous temple of speed and will seek to continue his valiant efforts for the remaining eight races.

The Monegasque claimed that the Maranello-based team was keen on making a single set of hard tires last until the end of the race. Leclerc claimed that several doubts arose in people’s minds but the team’s efforts finally paid off.

The win at Monza comes as a much-needed result for the Reds, who were winless since Monaco this year. The constructors’ championship tussle can now be deemed an open affair, with only 39 points separating the top three.
