McLaren were the fastest at the Dutch GP, proving they are strong contenders for the Constructors’ title. Lando Norris’ win and Oscar Piastri‘s fourth-place finish reduced the points gap to 30. Piastri asserts that they are ready to repeat their dominance at the Italian GP this weekend.

Oscar Piastri mentioned that McLaren resumed the season strongly at the Dutch GP and is now prepared to perform well and carry the momentum again in Monza. He mentioned that, despite winning, they reviewed and analyzed what they learnt from Zandvoort. These learnings would help them apply those lessons in Monza for better improvement. Piastri expressed confidence in their quick car and the improvements they’ve made will help them succeed again.

The team returned strongly last week, and now we’re ready to do it all again this weekend in Monza. We’ve gone over our learnings from Zandvoort to see what we can take through to this weekend as we have a very quick car, which makes it even more exciting.

Monza is known for its high-speed corners and straightaways, which make it an exciting and thrilling place to race. Oscar Piastri recalled the days from his past racing days. He mentioned racing in Monza several times in lower categories, it’s a track that every driver enjoys including himself as it’s very fast. Therefore, this experience helps him be more prepared and eager for the upcoming race.

I’ve raced in Monza a few times in the junior series, and it’s one a lot of us enjoy due to how fast it is.

Oscar Piastri aims for double header at the Italian GP

As the Formula 1 is back in Italy after an year, Oscar Piastri was excited to race in front of Italian fans again. He claims the atmosphere in Monza is always fantastic and with fans cheering it becomes more energetic. The 23-year-old felt that the Italian GP offers a great chance for the team to end the double-header race weekend on a high note.

I’m very much looking forward to racing in front of the Italian fans once again as it brings such a good atmosphere. We have a great opportunity to finish the double header in the best way possible.
