Adrian Newey had deemed his shocking exit from Red Bull ahead of the 2025 season. The aero-genius played an integral part in the team and led them to monumental success. Hence, Newey’s exit could see Milton Keynes suffer in the coming seasons. Red Bull Technical Director Pierre Wache shared his thoughts on the technical wizard’s exit.
Red Bull was disregarded by Adrian Newey in the past as the team dragged him just for ‘PR’ reasons. Regardless, Pierre Wache was praiseful of the 65-year-old. Wache noted that Newey was more than an inspiration, he was a legend.

Additionally, the Frenchman claimed that the Briton deserved the title win despite leaving the team mid-way through the 2024 season.
He was more than an inspiration. He is a legend. He deserves this title because he works hard, because he lives for the job, and because he always wants to win.Pierre Wache told Auto Motor Und Sport
Apart from this, Wache noted the learnings that he took from working closely with Newey. The 49-year-old highlighted that he learned how to be ‘technically impartial’ from the Brit. Additionally, the latter’s ‘remarkable’ quality of remaining open to all opportunities was like a cherry on top.
What I learned from him is that despite all those titles and victories, he remained technically impartial. At his age, it is a remarkable quality to be open to everything, because with age you often become blind to things.Pierre Wache added
Pierre Wache claims he can ‘never’ achieve what Adrian Newey has managed
Pierre Wache didn’t hesitate to accept that he could never be as decorated as Adrian Newey in F1. There were multiple reasons for this, however, being blindly technically partial was one of the factors. Additionally, Wache believed he didn’t have the ‘total passion’ like Newey while working in the pinnacle of motorsport.
It's like that for me too sometimes. I will never achieve what he achieved. I will never be like him because I could never have that total passion like him.Pierre Wache noted

Adrian Newey has continued to be the center of rumors about joining multiple teams in the sport. The aero-genius is yet to secure his future in F1 as he hasn’t locked in with any teams yet. The 65-year-old will continue to work on his legacy despite quitting the sport as his works will be visible in Red Bull for many years to come.
