Former Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo was sacked by Visa Cash App RB after the Singapore Grand Prix this season. Ricciardo was on an underperforming spell for RB (Red Bull’s junior team) since the midway point of last year.

Daniel Ricciardo was one of the most promising drivers during the late 2010s at the pinnacle of motorsport. He achieved the majority of his success while racing for Red Bull at the peak of his career. However, the 35-year-old was fairly inconsistent upon joining RB after a short sabbatical last season.

RB CEO Peter Bayer has since talked of the moment when Ricciardo lost hope of continuing in Formula 1. Bayer says the Aussie’s exit at Q1 during the Singapore Grand Prix played a major role in breaking his will to race.

That was a terrible moment. His world collapsed. We sat together in the office until two in the morning to discuss what to do. He then said that we should just let him finish the race.

Bayer iterated that Ricciardo still shares a good bond with him despite his unexpected exit from RB. The 35-year-old has not revealed his plans but is seemingly interested in continuing his racing career across different formats.

Formula 2 sensation reportedly came close to racing for RB in 2024

Brazilian American driver Enzo Fittipaldi was signed up to the Red Bull driver development program after a successful season in Formula 2. Reports have stated that Fittipaldi was very close to joining Visa Cash App RB this season.

Enzo Fittipaldi’s consultant Pedro Boesel claims that Red Bull held a meeting with the former pushing for a move to RB in 2024. The deal, however, did not substantiate as Liam Lawson finally amassed the seat on the Red Bull sister team.

Last year Enzo had a meeting with the Red Bull top brass. He was called to this meeting and there they said that they had chosen him to drive for AlphaTauri at RB this year. He tested the Formula 1 [car].

Enzo Fittipaldi’s consultant Pedro Boesel told motorsport.com

The upcoming Formula 1 campaign will feature a host of rookie debutants in the teams of Alpine, Haas, and Mercedes. Fittipaldi must now continue giving good performances in Formula 2 in order to stand a chance for promotion in the coming years.
