Red Bull reportedly ignored Adrian Newey’s advice while building RB20
Adrian Newey's reason to leave Red Bull is still unclear as multiple sources draw a claim of the aero-genius being overlooked in the team.

Red Bull has continuously aced the ground-effect era with Adrian Newey‘s brilliance coming into play. The aero-genius built highly capable machinery that led the team to monumental success. However, the technical wizard deemed his exit from Milton Keynes mid-way through the 2024 season. Hence, according to some sources, the Austrian constructor allegedly ignored Newey’s advice on the development of the RB20.
The underlying reason behind Adrian Newey‘s shocking exit from Red Bull is still uncertain. However, the 65-year-old was demoted to the RB17 Hypercar project before the news of his exiting. Hence, multiple fans speculated the declining importance of Newey to be the reason behind his departure.

According to formu1a.uno, Adrian Newey’s input about the RB20 was reportedly ignored. The 65-year-old was allegedly against the team’s cooling elements as he ‘hated’ the side inlets on the halo.
Additionally, for the aero-genius, the shark inlets on the RB20 chassis weren’t that good. However, these features were visible on the chassis proving that the Austrian constructor blatantly ignored Newey’s advice.

Multiple people including the Red Bull crew believed that the 65-year-old would retire from motorsports completely. However, multiple rumors have kept Newey’s work in Formula 1 alive as he is rumored to join multiple teams. Hence, upon these rumors, the aero-genius revealed that he wouldn’t make a quick decision.

Adrian Newey claimed that it wasn’t ‘surprising’ to see many teams approach him after he deemed his exit. However, the aero-genius noted that he needed a break before locking in with another team in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Adrian Newey would take a lot of crucial knowledge to whichever team that he would join in Formula 1. Hence, it would be interesting to witness where the 65-year-old decides to go. Currently, the aero-genius is rumored to be the top candidate for Aston Martin and Ferrari.
