Formula 1 has come a long way since its inception in 1950 and has received multiple changes to improve the quality of the sport. Hence, the 2025 season marks the 75th anniversary of the pinnacle of motorsport. As a result, Formula 1 has arranged an event named ‘F1-75’, where all the teams and drivers will come together to unveil their chassis.

Such large-scale events have rarely been organized in Formula 1 in the past. The F1 75 event on 18th February 2025 also includes multiple other artistic performances. Hence, the sport already started selling tickets for the show at a decent price to allow regular people to attend. However, the tickets were only sold to the people in the UK and were sold out in under an hour.

The tickets for the F1 75 event were sold out in over 45 minutes and scalpers immediately took to the internet to sell them at a huge markup. Formula 1 sold the tickets at a minimal cost of $75 to $142 for the two-hour show. However, people have started selling the tickets at a whopping estimate of over $1500 for the event. As a result, multiple core fans of the sport might not get a chance to visit the event in person.

We are aware that a few tickets for our season launch event at The O2 have been listed on unofficial resale websites. We can confirm that this is against the terms and conditions of sale and that any tickets bought through an unofficial resale platform are not valid for entry. Working with The O2 we have also identified that a number of the listings are fraudulent. We advise all our fans to only buy tickets through theo2.co.uk or via AXS Official Resale.

F1 statement about launch event tickets

The O2 arena alongside the sport also figured out that a majority of the listings on the internet were fraudulent. A majority of the fans based in the UK were denied the opportunity to even try and purchase tickets for the F1 75 event. Hence, Formula 1 must come up with better measures to ensure that the event tickets aren’t sold as easily to scalpers and other resellers in the future.
