The Monaco GP started off in an extremely unexpected manner. Kevin Magnussen, Nico Hulkenberg, and Sergio Perez were involved in a colossal Lap 1 crash. The race was brought to a quick end for the three drivers. Hence, Perez broke his silence over the matter and slammed Magnussen for the unnecessary move.
Sergio Perez revealed after the race that Haas’ Kevin Magnussen wasn’t even in the mirrors of the RB20 chassis before the crash. The Danish driver stuck to an extremely risky and unnecessary move which caused the catastrophic accident. Perez claimed that he was ‘surprised’ to see Magnussen committing to the move. This ‘dangerous’ accident caused a lot of damage to not only Red Bull’s chassis but also to both the Haas challengers.
On my onboard there is no point where you can see Kevin and I was just pretty surprised that he kept it flat out at that point, because it was just very unnecessary. We had a lot of damage, a very dangerous incident.Sergio Perez said during an interview.

Apart from this, the Mexican driver highlighted that it was extremely disappointing to see that the incident was not investigated. FIA decided to let the incident go as a ‘racing incident’ and didn’t look further into it. Perez revealed that his chassis was completely destroyed after the massive incident.
Also very disappointed that it didn’t get investigated, because it was a massive incident, my car is completely destroyed.Sergio Perez noted.

Sergio Perez claims Monaco stewards ‘not at the level’ of F1
Sergio Perez was not mincing his words when talking ill about the stewards present at the Monaco GP. The steward’s decision to let the incident be written off as a racing incident caught the Mexican driver off-guard. However, the stewards decided to penalize Alpine’s Esteban Ocon over his accident with Pierre Gasly going into Turn 1. Hence, FIA was under fire from Checo.

The 34-year-old highlighted that the stewards present in Monaco were not on the level of overlooking F1. Perez might receive some sort of backlash over his frustrated comments. He likely would have violated some rule from the long list of rules against talking ill of the authorities. Time will tell how the entire situation fares for the driver.
I think these stewards are not at the level of Formula 1, to be honest.Sergio Perez said in the post-race interview.

Red Bull will have to work extra time to fix Sergio Perez’s destroyed chassis. Red Bull’s recent struggling pace at Monaco will also have to be considered. The team has lost out on three races already out of the eight total races. Hence, Milton Keynes will have to bring more in-season upgrades to the chassis quickly.
