Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is under huge pressure to perform during the last 10 races of the 2024 season. Perez has been on a poor run of form this year, amassing only 24 points in the last seven races.

Sergio Perez has failed to prove his worth after signing a new contract with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit. He has thereafter been given an ultimatum to perform convincingly for the rest of the season. A failure to achieve the desired outcomes could see Perez depart from Red Bull ahead of 2025.

Perez has hence talked of being energized and refueled to take on an exciting run of races after the summer break. He has yet to score a win for the Red Bull since Baku in 2023.

Ready for the second half, fully recharged.

Red Bull is currently leading the championship battle by 42 points over second-placed McLaren this season. Christian Horner and Co. will now rely on Perez to deliver good results, which will be a key factor in clinching the 2024 title.

Red Bull derives analytical reasons for underperformance of RB20

Red Bull Technical Director Pierre Wache has talked of the decreased competitiveness of the RB20 this season. The Milton-Keynes-based team has massively fallen prey to the ever-improving pace of McLaren and Mercedes.

I think some aspects can be linked to the correlation. We are using quite an old wind tunnel and it can also be linked to the reduced capacity due to our position in the championship [ATR] and maybe also the fact that this is the third year with this type of regulation.

Wache has linked the team’s shortfalls to the use of an old wind tunnel for their testing activities. He also claimed that the rivals caught up to the standards of the RB20, with F1 being in the third year of its current regulations.

The RB20, despite its shortcomings, has amassed seven wins and 13 podiums this season. Keeping in view everything that’s been discussed, several eyes will be glued on the two RB20s during the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix weekend.
