Sergio Perez insists Red Bull summer break meeting had ‘nothing to do’ with his future
Sergio Perez clarifies the meeting between the Red Bull leadership was regarding team's overall performance.

Red Bull were rumored to be planning to replace Sergio Perez for the second half of the season due to his major performance slump in the first 14 races. However, the Austrian team decided to let Perez drive for them throughout the last 10 races. Christian Horner and Helmut Marko met during the summer break to discuss Checo’s future. But the Mexican strongly denies that the meeting was about that.
Sergio Perez recently clarified that people were just speculating about the meeting regarding his future between Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, which took place after the Belgian GP. Checo stated that the team held the meeting to focus on overall team performance, not on his individual performance or any decision to replace him. He also mentioned that he had already addressed all the speculation and felt there was nothing more to add.

Sergio Perez explained that he’s completely dedicated to his team and his goals, as the season resumes and he has a great chance again. After Red Bull extended his contract for two years, Perez felt confident and committed to helping the team regain success. Therefore, whatever the speculation might suggest, Sergio Perez was thankful for another opportunity and ready to help Red Bull. He is optimistic that they can improve and dominate the races again.

Sergio Perez claims he had a ‘positive’ summer break
The summer break was very beneficial and positive for Sergio Perez as well as Red Bull. He mentioned, during this time the team discovered a lot of useful information. Checo believed that, as a result, they now have a clearer understanding of their car’s performance and where they stand.
It was, I would say, a very positive break for Red Bull. We were able to find many things that I think at least now we know where we are with the car.Sergio Perez stated.
Therefore, The break was essential for the team as it helped them learn more about their car. RB20’s pace was the major problem they had to solve before entering the second half of the season. Hence, Now Perez is confident that they can fight for the top position again and give a tough competition.
