Sergio Perez responds to ‘pure speculation’ over his Red Bull contract

Speculation about Red Bull replacing Sergio Perez after the Belgian GP had arisen due to his poor performance so far this year. During the Belgian GP, Perez showed a good performance in Qualifying finishing third but started on P2. However, the Mexican was overtaken by other drivers during the race and finished Seventh, even behind teammate Max Verstappen who started from P11. Despite this poor run, Milton Keynes decided to keep Checo for the last 10 rounds and will base his future on those performances.
During a recent interview, Sergio Perez admitted that he is well aware of all the speculation and comments about his future in Red Bull. However, he remains focused on improving his performance in future races, as Red Bull chose not to replace him after the summer break. They considered replacing him with Daniel Ricciardo or Liam Lawson, but that didn’t happen. Checo stated that he is aware of his contract situation which was renewed recently. He emphasized that everything else people are hearing is just speculation and rumors. Thus, Perez is focused on doing his best despite all the negative talks.

Further, Perez admitted that he is completely focused on his performance and not worried about his contract. He emphasized that his main goal is to help his team get back to where they should be. Perez desired to concentrate on improving his results and contributing to the team’s success. Sergio Perez aimed to avoid thinking about contract issues or outside distractions as he is now set to stay for the remainder of 2024. Checo believed these decisions are up to the team and he must only focus on proving his worth by achieving team and personal goals.
