Fighter representation and fighter pay compensation is a tough conversation. It’s the basis UFC makes it stand as the premier promotion and answers to rivals. UFC star Bo Nickal might have a solution for that. He looks to F1-style sponsorship programs and where UFC’s broadcast deal lands next. If it’s Netflix, then it’s all good. If and when collegiate wrestling takes over, such things might help get it exposure.

Bo Nickal is a three-time NCAA Division I champion. The undefeated fighter works out with other athletes and coaches at ATT (American Top Team) Happy Valley in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania. Many Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling standouts train there and he hopes it helps them transition to UFC/MMA like him, smoothly. However, the F1-style sponsoring and a Netflix grind would be a big help!

What I want to do is now, …now start, uh, basically like a TV series, um, …like a Netflix series or something. Similar to full swing or F1 or the Formula 1, yeah… Everybody’s gonna get paid more, gets content shot of them…Lot of opportunities for stuff like that. So with the F1 team, they have like a group sponsorship. So, it’s like Red Bull could sponsor us. It’s like now everybody gets a cut, everybody gets paid just for being on the team.

Nickal’s plan could help fighters earn money even when away from fighting. However, it should generate interest among the fanbase. F1 cultures have in-room stop footage like reality TV. ATT’s Nickal wants collegiate wrestling to have some similar exposure. It’d help up-and-coming wrestlers with their exposure and get paid, without peer pressure.

After the NBA announced an 11-year, $76 billion deal, TKO Group Holdings wants to take UFC in a similar direction. Amazon.com, Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery (lost rights to the NBA), and usual YouTube PPVS are top spots for the 2025 Broadcast rights.

During a ‘Money Movers’ CNBC Exclusive for CNBC TV, UFC boss Dana White hinted that they might actually end up on multiple platforms. If the deal does split, Netflix can take its one-day release grind to release reality TV seasons on collegiate wrestling takeover at ATT. Such is the hope of middleweight Nickal, who upvotes this F1 plus Netflix boost.

Bo Nickal sees clear advantages over explosive wrestler Khamzat Chimaev in potential UFC fight

UFC middleweight standout Bo Nickal remains confident about his chances against Khamzat Chimaev. Despite booing his own performance, the wrestle-heavy Penn State alum was part of the historic UFC 300 PPV last April. Nickal has been making gradual strides in his performance and trusts his wrestling. To that end, he thinks he’s ready for the Chechen ‘Wolf.’

Chimaev is explosive in the lean-in and chaining-off shots. He defeated former champ Robert Whittaker in empathetic fashion, via submission (face crank) – Round 1, 3:34 at UFC 308. However, Bo Dean Nickal (7-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) thinks “Borz” still won’t match him in grappling and sees another advantage as well.

I don’t think there’s really a guy in the world at 86 kilos that can beat me in wrestling, …I think that he’s [Chimaev] good, he’s got skills, but his biggest thing that’s going to crush him, especially in a fight against me is, dude, you’re going to get tired. You’re going to go like this [down]…

A three-time national champion wrestler at Penn State, Nickal considers himself more all-around in the ground game. Chimaev has been upping his cardio and mixing striking pockets, training at Tiger Muay Thau (TMT). Meanwhile, trying to be a true pound-for-pound, Nickal veered the striking way at UFC 309 Pay-per-view main card.

However, he has now laid down the law and will go back to what he is good at; brilliant at even! Nickal plans to scramble the breath out of everyone, including Chimaev. With the wrestling skills test involved, this is a 2025 season super fight wish list topper for many.
