US GP boss Bobby Epstein reckoned that Daniel Ricciardo's presence would remain impactful despite getting ousted by RB.

Daniel Ricciardo is officially no longer an F1 driver. The Australian driver will be replaced by Liam Lawson at RB for the last six races of 2024. The 35-year-old is yet to reveal his career plans following his exit from the Faenza-based team. Now, Circuit of the Americas F1 boss Bobby Epstein has offered a potential role to Ricciardo.
Epstein claimed that Daniel Ricciardo would likely have the same impact outside of F1 that he had while racing at RB. The US GP Chief highlighted that it was unlikely that fans were coming to attend races to see Ricciardo race if he’s not in a competitive car. Rather, fans are more inclined towards the Australian’s personality.
Subsequently, Bobby Epstein insisted that Ricciardo could remain part of the F1 community as a whole in a meaningful way as he could attract audiences to races, hinting at a potential ambassadorial role. Moreover, Epstein asserted that Daniel Ricciardo is ‘really loved’ by all of Texas, the home of the US GP.
US GP ready to keep Daniel Ricciardo ‘busy’
Ricciardo is a free agent currently. Bobby Epstein hoped that this would allow the 35-year-old to spend more time with fans as he no longer has to race in F1. Moreover, Epstein reckoned that many fans would be eager to meet and shake hands with Daniel Ricciardo. Although, it is unclear if the Honey Badger will attend the race at COTA this month. The US GP boss insisted that such a role would keep the Australian busy.
Daniel Ricciardo is yet to decide on his future. The 35-year-old has not shown keen interest in joining a new championship straight away. Perhaps, an ambassadorial role in the US could be a good way for Ricciardo to blow off some steam before heading into his future plans.
