Carlos Sainz is all set to start the 2025 season with Williams after unexpectedly being snubbed from Ferrari for Lewis Hamilton. The Grove-based constructor unveiled their chassis design following a test session for the new challenger with Sainz. The 30-year-old made his on-track debut for the team by driving the FW47 around the Silverstone track.
Carlos Sainz had already driven Williams’ chassis in 2024, having participated in the post-season testing with the team. After driving the FW47, Sainz revealed that everything went fine and labeled it ‘good news’. Moreover, the 30-year-old insisted that the install lap for the newly developed car was supposed to be tricky. The Spaniard pointed out his excitement to make his debut with the team at the upcoming Australian GP.
Everything went fine, which is good news, An install lap for a newly-born car is always a bit tricky, but everything worked as it should and now we’re ready to get into the run plan.
Carlos Sainz said, as reported by RaceFans.net.
The 30-year-old will race alongside Alex Albon and aim to maximize points for the Grove-based constructor. The team suffered from a mediocre performance in the previous season after undergoing multiple changes mid-way through the season as they hope for stability this time around.

I need to give feedback – the two or three things that I felt that could be improved, or the feeling inside the cockpit that I want to talk to them about – then we’ll get the car ready to run on slicks and probably start pushing it little by little.
Carlos Sainz noted.
The Grove-based constructor will have to find improvement in their 2024 performance to enable Sainz’s winning chances. The Spaniard has put faith in Williams after declining multiple coveted opportunities with other teams. Hence, time will tell about how the upcoming season pans out for the 30-year-old following his snub from Ferrari.
