The Qatar GP was off to a blistering start following a multiple-car collision heading into turn 1. Pole sitter George Russell was quick to lose two positions on the race start. Moreover, Williams’s disastrous season continues as Franco Colapinto suffers from yet another collision. Nico Hulkenberg was potentially the reason behind the colossal crash.
Williams currently tops the table for the most amount of financial damages to the chassis following multiple major crashes. Franco Colapinto, despite promising performances at first, has crashed the chassis a lot and cost the team a grand fortune. The Qatar GP was not any different for the Argentinian as he suffered from yet another crash.
Nico Hulkenberg allegedly lost the rear of the chassis and collided with Alpine’s Esteban Ocon behind him. Colapinto was caught in the whirlwind of incidents and couldn’t steer clear of the incident. Both Ocon and the 21-year-old have now retired from the race as Williams would have to yet again work on fixing the chassis. Hulkenberg changed the tires on the car and rejoined the race as usual.

Alex Albon suffered from a crash with Lance Stroll in a similar manner
Williams cannot catch a break with the massive crashes throughout the weekends in recent times. Following Colapinto’s DNF, Alex Albon suffered from an incident with Lance Stroll in a similar manner. The Thai-British driver was driving on his line as usual until he was interrupted by Stroll. The Canadian driver went too close to the chassis and collided with Albon but didn’t cause major damage to the latter.
Stroll had to retire the chassis following major damage to the car from the collision with Albon. Moreover, the 26-year-old also received a ten-second penalty for causing a collision with the Williams driver. Hence, Aston Martin also took a massive hit this weekend alongside the Grove-based constructors’ nightmares.

The 2024 season has been extremely disappointing for Williams due to the continuous damages. Colapinto’s final few races are going poorly as the driver is unable to contend to score points. The season finale is right around the corner, and the Argentinian will attempt to put forth a great result in order to receive a second chance with a team on the grid for 2025.
