Lando Norris scored his maiden victory in Formula 1 after a long drought of five years.

The entire Formula 1 paddock erupted in celebration of Lando Norris‘ maiden victory. The 24-year-old secured his first race wins, five years after his debut in 2019. Hence, everyone congratulated the Briton on his race win against Red Bull’s dominant campaign. Amidst the sea of people celebrating, Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur was spotted being one of the biggest supporters of Norris’ victory.
Lando Norris got the best opportunity to score a race victory after incident between Logan Sargeant and Kevin Magnussen. The 24-year-old fended off well against Max Verstappen who was already struggling to manage his RB20. Hence, McLaren’s squad celebrated the maiden victory in great fashion. Fred Vasseur was amongst the many present at the celebration. McLaren CEO Zak Brown spotted the Frenchman and threw him a McLaren cap to celebrate the event.
Fred Vasseur was donning Ferrari’s special-edition blue jersey while being present at McLaren’s celebration. The 55-year-old immediately caught the cap and wore it to celebrate the victory. Additionally, Vasseur joined the celebration by popping champagne and showering the McLaren squad with it. Hence, the maiden victory was made even more joyful after witnessing such a wholesome gesture from the Ferrari boss.

Fred Vasseur claims McLaren was ‘always competitive’ with Ferrari
Ferrari has been showcasing a consistent performance by occupying the second spot in the constructors’ championship. The Italian constructor has been closely competing with McLaren since the beginning of the season. Hence, upon this, Fred Vasseur reckoned that Woking had always been competitive and close to the team. The team principal also recalled Carlos Sainz’s Australian GP win where McLaren came close to beating Ferrari towards the end.
We have been fighting with McLaren since the beginning of the season. In Melbourne they were close and also in the other races they are always quite competitive and close.Fred Vasseur said during post-race interview.
Regardless of the loss, Vasseur was equally happy about Norris’ maiden victory. The 55-year-old congratulated the Briton over the race victory at Miami GP. The Frenchman recalled that the team approached McLaren to celebrate the victory in the paddock. Additionally, the team principal mentioned that the entire team was happy about the 24-year-old’s race win.

Apart from this, Ferrari will be bringing multiple updates to the SF-24 challenger during the upcoming Emilia-Romagna GP. Three different constructors have scored a race win this season and have constantly been closing in on the gap at the forefront. Hence, the 2024 season will be exciting for the fans to watch the rival teams further challenge Red Bull’s dominance.
