Monaco is the crown jewel of motorsport. The iconic street circuit has been synonymous with open-wheel racing. However, the challenging nature of the track pushes drivers to the limit as even a small mistake could end one’s race. Now, F2 driver Isack Hadjer showcased his brilliant reaction time as he avoided a massive crash.
During F2 Qualifying on Friday, Rodin’s Ritomo Miyata was driving slowly in the famous tunnel. Unfortunately, no yellow flags had been waved by the marshals at this moment. As Miyata’s car went towards the end of the tunnel, Isack Hadjar was approaching the section at full speed.
Hadjar was pushing his car to the limit. However, the Red Bull junior managed to make a split-second decision and move away from Miyata’s car. This unreal reaction time allowed Isack Hadjar to miss a massive incident in the tight tunnel section. This showed the incredible reflexes of racing drivers.

Isack Hadjar didn’t realize how bad the collision could’ve been
Isack Hadjar commented on this incident after the session. The 19-year-old stated that he saw a car going slowly on the track. As such, the Red Bull junior quickly avoided Miyata on-track and managed to continue his lap without any trouble.

However, Hadjer mentioned that only after watching the footage from the garage, did he realize how terrible this crash could’ve been. Despite the modern safety elements in motorsport, such an incident could’ve been disastrous for both Isack Hadjar and Ritomo Miyata.

Certainly, Formula 2 would need to take stricter action to ensure that when a car is going slowly, marshals bring out the yellow flag. Fans were relieved to see both drivers go unharmed from this dangerous incident. Now, both Hadjar and Miyata would be focusing on the remainder of the Monaco weekend.
