F1, as a sport, has come a long way since the 1950s and today, it’s considered one of the best spectacles globally. Everything from the high-octane action, the glitz and glam, has evolved for the better over the years.
While F1 has a long and rich history of witnessing some of the best drivers and teams on the grid, the focus of this piece is on the worst constructor. Several well-renowned brands have tried their hands at the sport, but most did not make a lasting impression.

Andre Moda Formula by general perception, is considered the worst constructor in the history of F1. The Italian brand competed in the sport during the 1992 season after its owner, Andrea Sasseti, bought the Caloni racing team and changed its name as per his company. During that time, it had Alex Caffi, Enrico Bertaggia, Roberto Moreno, and Perry McCarthy as the team’s drivers.
However, despite having nine official entries, the team was only able to qualify for one race and after that, the outfit was nowhere to be seen around F1. As per statistics, the Andrea Moda Formula outfit had a horrendous time since entering and this is one of the reasons why the 1992 campaign was their first and also the last. Their final entry came at the Belgian Grand Prix.
The best Constructor in F1’s history
While Andrea Moda Formula to date is the worst Constructor to have entered F1, the sport has also seen quite a few top-notch Constructors as well. The lights of Williams, Red Bull, Mercedes, and McLaren, have all done well in the sport but there has been no team that has been able to match the might of Ferrari yet.

Going by Grand Prix’s wins, the Maranello-based team has so far in its history, amassed a massive 242 wins that is way above everyone else. McLaren is a distant second having only managed 183 so far. Ferrari has been competing in F1 from the very beginning and is one of the most passionately followed teams all over the world.
Moreover, when it comes to world titles, Ferrari has so far managed to amass 15 driver’s championships and has also seen its name written in the history books with a highly impressive 16 constructors titles as well. Keeping in view, the Andrea Moda Formula outfit, the two Italian outfits have had contrasting times in F1.
While one is long gone, the other is still going strong and is sure to keep competing in the sport for many more years. The Ferrari F1 team last won the constructors championship in 2008 when their car was driven by Felipe Massa, and the 2007 world champion, Kimi Raikkonen.
