Multiple teams such as Mercedes and McLaren have showcased exceptional improvement in the 2024 season. Mercedes has put forth the best possible results after winning three races amidst McLaren’s dominant pace. In light of this, Zak Brown anticipated Brackley to remain super strong for the remainder of the campaign.

McLaren is currently second in the constructors’ championship with a lead of over 100 points to Mercedes. Hence, Woking is currently not under direct threat of being ousted from the runner-up spot by Brackley.

However, Zak Brown noted that McLaren needed all the points possible in the battle against Mercedes if they continue on the same trajectory.

Fortunately, we have a lead of about a hundred points there. We may need all those points if they continue on the chosen path.
Zak Brown said on the Sky Sports F1 podcast

Due to the newfound improvement in pace for Mercedes, Brown believed Brackley would be super strong in the latter half of the 2024 season. Hence, the McLaren CEO pointed out that he was currently happy with the lead in the constructors’ championship. Regardless, Woking will have to continue to improve chassis performance to maintain the gap to the German carmaker.

I expect they will be super strong in the second half of the year. So I'm happy with that lead.

Zak Brown wants to ‘beat all nine teams’ on the grid

McLaren’s pace improvement has set them to potentially compete with Red Bull for the constructors championship. Milton Keynes’ struggles in the recent times have furthermore made the goal seem like a possibility. Hence, Brown highlighted his goals to beat all nine teams present on the grid. Additionally, the Briton didn’t ‘rule out’ the possibility of Ferrari catching up to the Papaya squad.

We want to beat all nine teams. Ferrari is not far behind us, so I don't think you can rule them out. Mercedes is on pace, winning three of the last four races.
