Wild stat about Paul George goes viral
Paul George has had an extremely shaky start to his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. Not only has George been having a down season on both ends of the floor, but his presence on the floor itself has been limited by injuries. Throughout all this, however, if there’s been one thing that George has remained consistent at, it’s his podcast.
The ‘Podcast P with Paul George‘ was launched by George in 2023 during his time with the Los Angeles Clippers. The show is one of the most consistent and regular podcasts run by active players, with George and his team of co-hosts delivering weekly content for fans. However, a wild stat recently emerged on social media, which might put into perspective how horrid PG13’s season has been so far.
“Insane stat for Sixers fans: Since joining the Sixers, Paul George has uploaded more Podcast clips to Youtube (228) Than field goals made (191),” @sixersgeo tweeted

The post has since gone viral, garnering over 58K likes in under 24 hours. This begs the question: how true is this stat really? George signed with the Sixers on July 6th 2024. Since then, his YouTube channel alone has seen 165 shorts, 123 clips and full-length podcast episodes being uploaded to it. This means that since signing with the Sixers, George has uploaded a total of 288 videos to the channel.
Contrastingly, the shooting numbers for Paul George spell a sad story. In 32 games this season, George has made just 197 field goals, which is FAR below his Youtube numbers. While the stats in the viral post may not be entirely correct, the story they portray almost underwhelms how disastrous this season has looked so far. With the Sixers’ Big 3 finally coming back to health, hopefully, PG13 can redeem himself.
How can Paul George and the 76ers get their season back on track?
As it currently stands, the Philadelphia 76ers are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 20-31 record. Following their disappointing loss to the Detroit Pistons on Friday, the Sixers continue to unravel, even after their big three of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George have finally returned.
For most of the season, George, Embiid and Maxey dealt with injuries one after the other, causing a trainwreck of a season for a team that entered this year with championship expectations. While the Sixers’ former MVP’s injuries have been a major reason for their struggles, George was supposed to be the piece that held the team together along with Maxey.
So far this season, Paul George has averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting just under 43% from the field in the games he has been available. These are severely underwhelming numbers for a player that is set to earn $52.9 million this season. Although his injuries have been a major reason for his struggles, Sixers fans will desperately hope that the second half of the season spells a different story for a team looking to squeeze their way into the playoffs.
