Khabib Nurmagomedov retired soon after dominating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, announcing his decision at the post-fight interview, saying that he had promised his mother that he wouldn’t fight without his late father and that UFC 254 would be his last appearance in the octagon. It has almost been a month since that happened, but the rumors of the Dagestani fighter returning to the octagon haven’t died down one bit. In fact, the MMA world is actually divided, with some claiming he would definitely return and the rest claiming he would remain true to his word.

More recently, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, rubbished reports from MMA Junkie posting an article which claimed Khabib had no interest in returning to the octagon.

Will Khabib return? – The MMA community is miffed

According to the story reported by MMA Junkie, Khabib had addressed RT Sport saying, “You can fight until you’re 40, but there should be a goal. I had a goal to reach the summit, and I got there. Further, I have no competitive interest. Next year I will graduate. I’d like to (build on) my thesis, do a masters course, dedicate more time to studying. I’ve bought sheep, I tend to my farm. I’d like to develop in this field a little. I have the bull calves out to feed. I have cows.”

Reacting to this Ali Abdelaziz took to Twitter calling it “Fake News”, putting a spoke in the wheel of those who thought Khabib would never return.

What do you think? Will Khabib Nurmagomedov return to the octagon to at least make it 30-0? Or will he stay true to his word?
