Pakistan fast bowler, Haris Rauf, is still experiencing the flashbacks of the two sixes that Virat Kohli hit him during the India vs Pakistan game in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Melbourne. Kohli smashed one six straight down the ground on the fifth ball of the 19th over and then followed it up with another over fine leg on the next ball.
Fans have teased him with Kohli’s name from the time he smashed Rauf for two sixes and turned the game in India’s favor. During a recent MLC game, a fan on the stands was seen mocking Rauf by reminding him of Kohli’s sixes against him.
Haris bhai Melbourne abhi bhi yaad aata hai? Virat ke 2 chakke, yaad hai? (Do you still remember Melbourne? Virat’s two sixes). The fan asked Haris Rauf
Rauf was one of the best T20 bowlers until that time. Since Kohli hit those two sixes and won the match for India, Rauf’s performance has gone down. He has struggled to bring his best in league cricket as well as for Pakistan.
Haris Rauf had praised Virat Kohli’s class after Kohli hit him for those two sixes
After Kohli smashed Rauf for those two sixes in 2022, Rauf has praised Kohli multiple times. In one interview, he stated that no other player other than Kohli could have smashed him for those two sixes. He even revealed that he would have been hurt if some other player like Dinesh Karthik or Hardik Pandya had smashed him for those two sixes. He knows Kohli’s class and the ability to pull off those maximums.

Rauf did not have a very good time during the T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan lost the matches against USA and India and were knocked out from the group stage. Meanwhile, Kohli was not at his best but stepped up on the day of the final and India won the T20 World Cup after 17 long years.
Kohli is currently playing against Sri Lanka in the ODI series after announcing his retirement from the T20I format. He struggled in the two ODIs against Sri Lanka as India are trailing 1-0 with one match to play in the series.
