After overcoming Randy Orton in a nostalgia-filled act at Backlash last Saturday, John Cena is marching ahead. The next major PLE on the WWE calendar falls on June 7, which is Money in the Bank. It seems like the company is still figuring out what the Peacemaker actor would do on that given night at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

As per PWInsider, the Undisputed WWE Champion isn’t expected to face CM Punk at Money in the Bank. The rumors of this match gained traction recently when The Second City Saint made his intentions clear about chasing the world title. Even though Cena vs. Punk isn’t in the cards for MITB, the company does plan on getting it done at the right time.

Now, speaking of what has been pitched for The Franchise Player at Money in the Bank, it’s not something the fans have taken too kindly to. The 48-year-old WWE icon is expected to join forces with rapper Travis Scott in a tag team match, which could also turn into a 6-man proposition, as per the report. The expectation is that Cody Rhodes would also be involved in the mix.

It was previously broached that The American Nightmare is slated to be in town for Money in the Bank. Having him oppose Cena and Scott with a partner does appear like a follow-up to that controversial ending of WrestleMania Sunday. Had it not been for the FE!N artist, Rhodes would’ve probably retained the Undisputed WWE title over Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect.

Fans dump on the idea of Travis Scott’s link-up with John Cena for a match

As one would expect, the wrestling community on social media is unanimously against the idea of involving Travis Scott in John Cena‘s ongoing WWE farewell tour. One outraged fan even went on to say that whoever was booking it should be put behind bars.

Scott’s integration into Cena’s storylines prompted another fan to comment that Bron Breakker must spear the Houston-based rapper in half. A possible scenario that an account came up with includes the Undisputed WWE Champion, his rapper friend, and Logan Paul teaming up to face Cody Rhodes, Bad Bunny, and Jey Uso potentially.

However, Uso’s addition to the fold is debatable. While Cena’s heel turn was a top-tier moment in WWE history, the company has allegedly blown it up, according to the general consensus. A number of anti-Dwayne Johnson comments were also spotted, which scream nothing but resentment for The Rock for his no-show at WrestleMania 41.

The Final Boss, as many believe, was needed to accentuate Cena’s record-breaking 17th world title win. A fan used a GIF indicating that WWE CCO Triple H was morphing into Vince McMahon‘s era of creative with the kind of booking decisions he’s making. Almost everyone is against La Flame’s WWE in-ring debut. However, the musician is being trained by WWE HOF’er Booker T, which could make a difference.

John Cena to compete at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Before moving on to Money in the Bank, WWE has one more stop before that. On May 24, the company will present its second Saturday Night’s Main Event iteration of the year. For the unversed, John Cena is expected to wrestle at the NBC special WWE event.

The man who’s reportedly set to oppose The Franchise Player is none other than R-Truth. The real-life Ron Killings suffered the wrath of an Attitude Adjustment at the Backlash post-show press conference. Cena vs. Truth might get official as early as this week’s SmackDown.

While it’s almost certain that Killings wouldn’t be that much of a threat to the Last Real Champion, the match in itself is likely going to pop the Tampa crowd on the Memorial Day weekend. Both men have had a number of on-screen interactions in recent weeks, and it’s definitely leading to an in-ring showdown.
