The X world was euphoric as Novak Djokovic beat Lorenzo Musetti in a late-night thriller. What started out at midnight went on to early morning, where the Serbian emerged victorious in a 4-hour and 29-minute match.

Djokovic had started with a set win but lost the next two before starting his comeback. With near-perfect shots, the Serbian still had his energy levels up to try to win the match from his position. As usual, the Serbian made a comeback to beat Musetti in a bagel finish. This was recorded as one of the longest late-night matches to have ever happened.

Amidst all the euphoria, the fans also took shots at the tournament for their last-night schedules. With rain playing spoils for most of the day, the matches are pushed to late at night, making main-stage players like Djokovic finish the next day, ruining their schedule and recovery.

This is not the first time that it happened. Every other tournament, the top players are made to make severe adjustments to suit the tournament and their media agreements. it happened to Alexander Zverev also, who ended late in the night.

Fans react to Roland Garros’ troublesome scheduling following Novak Djokovic match

Unfortunately, he might not be as fresh as his opponent after the late-night finish against Lorenzo Musetti. With very little recovery time, the Serbian might not be his fittest for the next game and has to try to push himself through.

Fans also brutally reacted to the poor scheduling of the match. “How the No 1 player in the world is forced to play a grand slam match at 2.30am is a disgrace to Tennis and a disgrace to sport,” said a fan on X. Soon a wave of reactions followed trolling the tournament over poor scheduling. Here are some more reactions.

Now the Serbian will take on Francisco Cerundolo, who has advanced to the fourth round of the French Open for the second consecutive time. Another exciting match is being lined up as the two players will play for a spot in the quarter-finals.
