Amidst its ongoing European tour, WWE stopped by Belfast in Northern Ireland on Saturday. Their national hero, Finn Balor, received one of the best reactions of the night in SSE Arena. A clip of Balor gleefully greeting the fans is going viral on social media. One would think he was just catching up with his compatriots.

However, there’s more that meets the eye in this case. Balor has worked as a heel, which in wrestling parlance translates to a bad guy, since joining the Judgment Day in mid-2022. The former Universal Champion hadn’t reeked of the qualities of a babyface until his burgeoning rift with Dominik Mysterio of late.

The Judgment Day members have had some tense faceoffs in recent weeks, with both reminding each other of their losing streaks. Last Monday on Raw, Finn wrestled Bron Breakker, vying to dethrone him for the Intercontinental Championship. However, in closing moments, Mysterio inadvertently cost his stablemate the match.

It’s certainly going to be addressed moving forward. Also, if this is how Balor finally snaps at Dom, the fans wouldn’t complain. A few months ago, WrestleVotes reported that the former NXT Champion is lined up for a sustained singles push in 2025.

The Irish grappler recently completed a decade with WWE and has established himself as a locker room leader, the above report added. Some believe it has gotten too late for Balor to be utilized in the main event picture, especially with how stacked the roster is at the moment.

Fans root for Finn Balor to go down the babyface route

When Triple H took over as the leading creative force on the main roster, the fans were most optimistic about Finn Balor benefitting from it. But over two years removed, things have somehow gotten worse for one of the most-feared strikers The Game had in the heyday of NXT.

The fans, though, are still hoping for Balor to turn face, especially with how likeable he can be while having an entire arena rallying behind him. Seeing the 43-year-old dap up with the attendees at a house show in Belfast, a user wrote that he needs to get back to winning ways.

The amount of pinfall losses he has taken in recent years is baffling to many. Another fan suggested that WWE needs to let him be ‘The Prince’ once again with the return of his old entrance music. A few comments were also made highlighting that Finn was a sentimental favorite just because the aforementioned live event was in Ireland. Many folks believe that Balor has to break off from The Judgment Day. The cracks are evident.

Which Vince McMahon booking decision continues to haunt Finn Balor?

Apart from The Prince he used to be, Finn Balor enjoyed unremitting success with the periodic segue to his alter ego—the demon. The last time he had that body paint on was at WrestleMania 39. On the show, he waged war against Edge, aka Adam Copeland.

They were restricted within the confines of Hell in a Cell. Despite having received fourteen staples near his forehead mid-match, Finn succumbed to the WWE Hall of Famer. That booking decision enraged a number of fans.

Recently, Fightful reported that it was Finn who was supposed to beat Cope, something which the latter even insisted upon. However, Vince McMahon made the call to have it changed. That loss not only damaged the reputation of Balor as a singles threat but also rendered his ‘Demon’ persona to a moribund state.
