Rashee Rice’s offseason is picking up right where the last one left off—surrounded by controversy. Rice is in hot water after his ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole Jones, accused the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver of abuse and physical assault.
A few days after the Chiefs lost to the Las Vegas Raiders, Jones shared graphic images of injuries, including bruises and cuts, as evidence of the claimed assaults. Jones, the mother of Rice’s child, shared that she kept quiet for eight years to protect both his and their child’s reputation. But eventually, she couldn’t hold it in any longer and decided to speak out on Instagram.
Nichole noted that Rice would often “put his hands on her” even when she was pregnant. He even “locked her outside in freezing weather, and destroyed her belongings after being caught cheating.”

Fans demand strict action against Rashee Rice for abusing his ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole Jones
Jones’ post revealed a few chilling details about her choppy relationship with the Super Bowl winner. She called Rice a “controlling” man and broke into her new home after their recent split.

This isn’t the first time Rice has been involved in unsavory actions. In March 2024, Rice totaled his Lamborghini Urus during a hit-and-run case on a Dallas interstate. He fled the scene alongside the passengers of his car without notifying the local authorities.
Rice turned himself in after the police issued an arrest warrant. He missed the first six games of the 2025 season as punishment from the league. The Chiefs activated him for the Raiders game in week 7. A concussion ended his season after just eight appearances. He racked up 53 receptions on 78 targets for 571 yards and caught 5 touchdowns.
It’s definitely not the best situation to be in. Not only does his previous case remain pending in court, but now he might face abuse charges if found guilty. Before that happens, fans want the Chiefs hierarchy to rid themselves of Rice while there’s still time in their hand.

Rashee Rice belongs in prison. There is no debate there. But don’t forget that a bunch of generic pop songs that all sound the same from a whiny girl who always plays the victim, plus annoying commercials and a bad podcast, made this guy into an icon when THIS is who he truly is. pic.twitter.com/0KxfEC2yIG

fuck everybody who supported rashee rice or wore this shirt and fuck the NFL for allowing him to put a jersey back on again btw https://t.co/qkdCjYgdwc pic.twitter.com/YT1QZVVLIm
Rashee rice needs to be banned from the nfl for life. Legal issues in college, hit and run in the nfl, and now domestic violence there’s simply no reason he should be allowed to play anymore.

I regret giving Rashee Rice the benefit of the doubt from his accident and labeling it a mistake he could learn from. If what is reported is true, he should be cut immediately and move on. Truly disappointing.

ESPN’s Nate Taylor reported that the Chiefs are monitoring the situation.
The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League. We have no further comment at this time.

The Chiefs already have a shortage at the wide receiver position. Hollywood Brown, who caught 49 passes for 587 yards and scored 5 touchdowns, is unlikely to return in 2026. He penned a goodbye message on Instagram.
Memories that will last a lifetime going to war with the gang!! Thank you ChiefsKingdom.

They do have a few exciting young receivers on the roster, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton, Jason Brownlee, and Jalen Royals– but only Worthy and Thornton have first-team experience. If Rice gets cut, then the Chiefs may need to look for a true WR1.
General manager Brett Veach could reach out to Miami with a trade deal for Tyreek Hill. However, the All-Pro wideout and former Chief has been in rehab after undergoing surgery on his broken leg. So, there’s no certainty he’ll still have his incredible speed. The Chiefs need to act fast.
