“Booo triple h predictable PLEs”- WWE Universe disappointed with anti-climatic finish to banger Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens match at Bash in Berlin
Following a hard-fought battle, Cody Rhodes is still the Undisputed WWE Champion as Kevin Owens failed to pull the trigger.

Today in Berlin, Cody Rhodes escaped a real scare at the hands of Kevin Owens. Before they even locked up, the crowd was feeling it. The match began with both men measuring each other. And it was Kevin who landed the first shots. He took out Cody with a Cannon Ball to the outside, but the champ responded with a well-placed disaster kick to the side of Owens’ face. After enduring a couple of knife-edged chops to the chest, Rhodes caught his foe in a figure four leglock.
The Prizefighter turned up the dial with a frog splash on Cody at ringside. The challenger dove deep into his arsenal to plant Rhodes with a side Russian legsweep. In his first Cody Cutter attempt of the night, the former AEW EVP was caught. He ate a German Suplex, followed by a superkick from Kevin. However, the Georgia native powered through to deliver a cutter on Kevin Owens.
A few moments later, the former Universal Champion nailed Cody with an off-the-top rope rolling senton. Rhodes escaped but soon caught the French-Canadian with a Cross Rhodes, but it wasn’t enough for a three-count. Then came a point: just when Rhodes went for an avalanche cutter, he buckled his knee. It was alluded to last night on SmackDown by Kevin himself that The Prodigal Son hurt his knee during the recent WWE European Tour.
After initial reluctance, the challenger snapped and attacked Cody’s affected knee but couldn’t muster up that killer instinct to batter Rhodes with an apron powerbomb. It cost him dearly. Cody delivered another Cross Rhodes to Kevin to retain his Undisputed title. After the match, both superstars embraced with mutual respect oozing from each corner.
Fans nitpick a major flaw despite wrestling masterclass from Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens
It was evident from the crowd reactions how hard these men went at each other. Right from the get-go, it was intense. In a barn burner that went for over 23 minutes, Cody Rhodes successfully defended his crown against a good friend in Kevin Owens.
However, that didn’t seem to work for some. They argued that even though the bout was solid, the finish fell flat. There were many who wanted to see K.O. turn his back on Cody. One even noted that the Triple H-led WWE PLEs are getting predictable at this point.
It now appears like Solo Sikoa is lined up for another crack at Rhodes’ gold. However, the fans aren’t willing to have them run it back. The last time they met was in early August at SummerSlam where the Bloodline 2.0 leader was shocked by Roman Reigns’ return and eventually lost.
