Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford made a surprise loan move to Aston Villa this January transfer window. The shocking loan move has left fans flabbergasted. The 27-year-old has agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa, for a temporary move until the end of the season.
English forward Marcus Rashford has not played for Manchester United since December last year. His last appearance came against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. Since then, he has been left out of Ruben Amorim‘s squad. The manager cited poor training efforts and his attitude as major issues. Rashford had also clearly stated his intent in taking up a new challenge away from United.
The 27-year-old forward has now been provided a way out. Ending his two-decade long association with Man Utd, Rashford has now agreed to join Aston Villa on a six-month long loan deal. Villa will pay 75 percent of his massive £325,000 per-week wages. Moreover, he is set to replace forward Jhon Duran, who most recently departed Villa to join Saudi PL side Al-Nassr.

It remains to be seen whether Marcus Rashford succeeds in making a comeback. He has scored just seven goals and provided three assists in 23 appearances for his boyhood club this season. His new transfer deal also consists of a buy-out clause worth £40 million. Therefore, Aston Villa can opt to sign him for another three and a half years, at the end of the season.

Moreover, Rashford is not Aston Villa’s only signing this January, with the club having spent heavily in acquiring new forwards. They have already signed Donyell Malen from Dortmund, and are on course to signing PSG forward Marco Asensio on loan as well.
Fans react to Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s surprising transfer to Aston Villa
Football fans and social media users responded to the news of out-of-favor Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford securing a loan deal to Aston Villa. It comes after Rashford was shown the door out by United boss Ruben Amorim. His lack of consistency, poor form and training remains the core issues.
Fans slammed the 27-year-old move out of the club, claiming that it has been a weird transfer window. Some others exclaimed that the deal is a good one for Man Utd, blasting out at Rashford’s arrogance. A few fans hilariously stated that he had to settle for less by joining Aston Villa, despite being linked to La Liga giants FC Barcelona.

This arrogant man ends up at Villa. Despite all his pride you end up at a much lower team to United. In life, always learn to stay humble. Amorim and United in this battle!!! 👏🏽

Marcus Rashford moving to Aston Villa? What a downgrade! Manchester United must be desperate to let go of their star player to a mid-table team. Guess money talks louder than ambition now.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford could make his debut for Villa when they take on Tottenham in the FA Cup next week. The England international brings tons of experience, having played more than 400 matches for Man Utd. As such, it remains to be seen how much the English forward can help Villa achieve their goals this season.
