The WWE Universe is going to witness a couple of big-time retirements in 2025, if not more. John Cena has already announced that he’ll ride off into the sunset by the tail end of next year. Another WWE legend who might not hang in for that long but is slated to bid adieu to the squared circle is none other than Bill Goldberg.

As per Viper Reports, the 57-year-old will apparently wrestle a couple of matches in WWE before calling it a day on his near three-decade-long career. The report further added that the company was previously interested in having him face Gunther. However, that might be off the table now. If that’s indeed true, their heated confrontation from Bad Blood would be deemed futile.

At the PLE, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion belittled the WCW icon in front of his wife, and son, Gage. The Ring General also cleared up the air on whether Goldberg was his favorite wrestler growing up as he claimed so in front of Bret Hart on Raw a few days back. The Austrian smirked and said he lied about it.

He even called Bill a one-trick pony and a horrible father. After that verbal jousting, a brawl almost ensued. Shortly after that newsworthy faceoff, Goldberg appeared on the SEC Nation to announce that he’ll have his retirement match in 2025. Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had vowed to give a proper send-off to the Oklahoma native but didn’t keep his word.

As a result, Bill Goldberg went berserk and even continued whiplashing McMahon during interviews. However, incumbent WWE CCO Triple H has welcomed Bill back into the fold to have his swansong under his regime.

Fans pick Bron Breakker to retire Bill Goldberg amid resentment over his return

It’s clear as daylight that most of the fans aren’t interested in a Goldberg match anymore. Regardless of that, he’ll have one or two. Knowing that it’d happen, the WWE Universe has singled out a handful names who should be put over by the veteran wrestler.

Current Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker is the people’s choice for sending Bill Goldberg into retirement. Bron’s patriarchs, the Steiner Brothers, are close friends with Bill. Moreover, the latter has lauded Breakker for his explosive brute strength.

A fan predicted that he’ll compete on the Netflix premiere of Raw. Another one proposed for the ex-football tight end to cost Gunther his world title against Seth Rollins. It’d not only pave way for The Visionary’s WrestleMania 41 match against CM Punk but also prove an easy fodder for Bill’s expected spar with The Ring General.
