“Bring us Luka” – NBA fans dismiss Boston Celtics’ run to NBA Finals as ‘easiest’ after sweeping Haliburton-less Pacers
The Boston Celtics are headed to the NBA finals after defeating the Indiana Pacers 4-0.
NBA fans are not impressed by the Celtics defeating the Tyrese Haliburton-less Pacers.
Getting a clean sweep in the NBA semifinals speaks volumes of a team’s talent and dominant performance in the matchup. However, fans are not impressed by the Boston Celtics’ 4-0 win in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.
To the Indiana Pacers‘ disappointment, the team’s star player Tyrese Haliburton was injured after Game 2. The guard missed the next two games, which made the Boston Celtics‘ path simpler as the team won both games by just a few points.
Despite Haliburton’s absence, the Pacers put on a great fight as they dominated the top-seeded Celtics for a significant amount of time. But the Celtics had a clutch performance late in the fourth quarter. After giving a hard time to the Celtics, the Pacers were unable to score any points in the last three and half minutes, which led the Celtics to take the ECF trophy by winning the game with merely three points.
Three of the four games in the series were blowout losses for the Pacers. The team was unable to sustain their unit performances, which worked in the favor of the Celtics. The Boston team’s scorers like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White managed to get good looks to seal the games in the final moments.
NBA fans were not impressed by the Celtics’ sweep against the Pacers
Despite having the best regular season record in the league, the Celtics have not earned much respect from the fans. The difference between the competition in the East and West has played a big role in the game followers’ opinions. Sweeping the sixth-seeded team with an injured star player was seen as an easy task by the NBA fans.
While witnessing the conference finals on the West Coast, fans were not moved by the Celtics win. NBA fans took to social media to react to Boston’s win over the Pacers. Check out some of the reactions from X below.
The team’s journey from here onwards would be interesting to witness as the Celtics would have to take down the Dallas Mavericks or the Minnesota Timberwolves. Defeating either of those teams in the finals would certainly not be an easy task. Game 1 of the NBA finals will be held in Boston at the TD Garden on June 6th.
