- Fans are opposed to NFL players representing Team USA in flag football at the 2028 Olympics after a poor performance in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic.
- Team USA, comprised of pro flag football players, dominated the tournament, winning all three games with a combined score of 106-44.
- Darrell "Housh" Doucette III was named player of the tournament and controversially claimed he is better than NFL star Patrick Mahomes in flag football.
Hype was high when Tom Brady teamed up with Fanatics to announce the debut of the Flag Football Classics. This event promised NFL players a platform to showcase their talent and increase their chances of representing the USA at the LA Summer Olympics in two years’ time.
NFL players were split into two squads, the Founders FFC and the Wildcat FFC, with the current USA national flag football team joining in as the third team. Darrell “Housh” Doucette III led Team USA in the tournament and taught his NFL counterparts a lesson in flag football.

Doucette and Team USA showcased impressive skill and strategy, giving them a big edge as they won all three games, outscoring opponents 82-27.
Fans urge NFL players to forget about representing the USA in flag football at the LA Summer Olympics after a nightmare performance in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic
A number of NFL stars have joined the FFC, including Tom Brady, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels, Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins, Stefon Diggs, Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Ashton Jeanty, and Jalen Ramsey.

Team USA faced the Wildcats FFC in the opening game and outscored them 39-14. In the following game, Doucette and co. took down Brady’s Founders FFC 43-16. These two teams met in the championship game after the Founders defeated the Wildcats 34-26 in the tiebreaker.
Although the final game was a tighter matchup, Team USA still came through with a 24-14 win. Team USA outscored its opponents 106-44 while scoring on 14 of its 15 possessions.
I never want to hear how NFL players should play at the 2028 Olympics.

Team USA just showed the NFL what happens when specialists face part timers who treat it like a casual pickup game. Different sport, different priorities, speed & flag pulling mastery vs. “don’t tweak my hamstring for content.” Respect where it’s due, those flag pros earned that…

Team USA should be rubbing it in the pros faces. Call them boys and tell them to learn from a master. Their attitudes will change. They can't face the embarrassment of losing la28

Pro Football & Flag Football are literally two different types of games. I could care less who won but ultimately it helps grow the games globally.

Flag football is a totally different game…

This was a horrible idea. It’s like taking Muhammad Ali in a UFC fight with Jon Jones.
The NFL players don’t even fully understand the game because they haven’t played. https://t.co/hG0W800wTk
Doucette was picked as the player of the tournament. Prior to the event, Doucette stirred up controversy by claiming that he is better than three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.
At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game. I know he’s right now the best in the league, I know he’s more accurate, I know he has all these intangibles, but when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.
Whether Doucette is better than Mahomes is a matter of debate. Burrow, Hurts, and Daniels may excel at gridiron football, but Team USA showed they dominate the turf in the world of flag football.
