After being away for five months from the ring, CM Punk is back to where he belongs. Even though he succumbed to a cocky Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, the Chicagoan marches ahead. August is going to be a jam-packed month for Punk, as he’s now being advertised for every single episode of Raw. He’s now at the forefront of the list of featured superstars for the red brand.

That’s something the fans have been waiting for. Even though he has been a lynchpin of WWE programming of late, CM Punk hasn’t gotten back to winning ways. Since returning to WWE last year at Survivor Series: WarGames, he’s had a couple of matches. First, he entered the men’s Royal Rumble match. Despite making it to the final two, the 45-year-old couldn’t get the job done.

In fact, a mid-match injury rubbed salt to Punk’s woes. He ruptured his triceps off a Future-Shock DDT by Drew McIntyre. As opposed to the prescribed rehab period of eight months, The Best in the World came back in five. Even before stepping into the squared circle against McIntyre, Punk had screwed the Scot on far too many occasions.

At SummerSlam, Drew had the last laugh. But don’t be mistaken, as they’re far from over. McIntyre still has Punk’s beloved family bracelet that he seized after mauling The Second City Saint on SmackDown a few weeks ago. It’s imperative for Punk to regain what he believes means the world to him.

Things are expected to escalate between them come this Monday. As of now, it’s not been disclosed whether they’ll dupe it out at Bash in Berlin. However, they’re certainly rumored for a infamous gimmick showdown at next month’s Bad Blood premium live event.

Fans crave more as CM Punk looks to keep injury at bay

Seeing CM Punk on a full-time schedule is something WWE fans aren’t accustomed to. However, for now, they seem jubilant at his back-to-back appearances this month. There’s a vocal section of fans who believe that it’s high time Punk started competing on Raw as well.

He’s had a couple of showdowns on house shows last year. But he’s yet to return to in-ring action on episodic television. On the contrary, some folks have lauded WWE for their way of booking The Straight Edge Superstar, considering he’s injury-prone.

A fan even joked that Punk saw Seth Rollins bail out due to some chronic issues and he’s now showing up to work every week. Some are also wondering whether he’ll be at Bash in Berlin as he’s not advertised for the show. At least for now.
