Ex-Brentford forward Ivan Toney surprised friends and family by inviting them to visit his new home in Saudi Arabia, additionally announcing to sponsor their tickets. The 28-year-old forward is all set to travel to the middle-east, after making a massive move to Al-Ahli.
Ivan Toney’s future at Brentford remained highly uncertain this summer, with a number of clubs interested in signing him including Arsenal and Chelsea. However, a high-price tag of around £100 million and recent form discouraged the clubs to bid for the forward. Having waited until deadline day, Toney finally completed a £40 million move to Al-Ahli, with spectacular weekly wages amounting to about £400k-per-week. This also makes him one of the highest paid English players in history.
Prior to his departure, Toney hosted a farewell party, inviting friends and family members, with whom he spent his time in London. Reminded of the old memories in his farewell speech, the forward invited each of his mates and family members to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, his new home. Moreover, he surprised everyone by adding that he would bear the flight expenses for the ones who would travel. He might have also wanted his fellow teammates to join him in playing in the Saudi PL.
He went from earning 50k a week, 45% of that is taxed and living in meady Brentford to earning 400k a week TAX FREE and having your whole living paid for by the club.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead for Toney. He is set to receive almost ten times his weekly wages at Brentford, just 40k-per-week. Toney’s move also sees him join other stars at Al-Ahli, including Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Franck Kessie and Edouard Mendy.
