The first night of the 2024 WWE Draft on SmackDown has concluded, and fans have some interesting opinions about it. There were just a handful of superstars drafted to another brand. In addition to that, only a few NXT superstars like Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, and Kiana James also got called up to the main roster.

However, most fans expressed their disappointment with the first round of the Draft, as there were no significant changes. The first big surprise of the night was Nia Jax‘s switch to SmackDown, who made full use of it. Bron Breakker was signed to SmackDown after his main roster debut but found a new home in Raw. Other than that, there weren’t any significant roster changes.

Triple H and Cody Rhodes came out and did the honor of announcing the picks for the first round. Bianca Belair became the first overall pick of the WWE Draft and stayed on the blue brand. Reports were circulating that some of the top NXT stars were locked in for the main roster, and Carmelo Hayes was one of them. He surprisingly challenged The American Nightmare to a match in the main event of the show, which he ended up losing.

Many legends and Hall of Famers, such as The Dudley Boyz, Torrie Wilson, Teddy Long, and JBL, appeared for the later rounds. For this year’s WWE Draft, it was pre-announced that the champions from both brands would be protected. The reason for this could be the ongoing, engaging storylines involving them. It will be interesting to see whether things change for the better or not when the remaining rounds take place on Raw.
