Chris Haynes and Shams Charania reported on a major trade that took place in the NBA. The San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, and Chicago Bulls reached an agreement on a three-team deal that will see De’Aaron Fox join the Spurs, Zach LaVine join the Kings, and assets go to the Bulls.
De’Aaron Fox and Jordan McLaughlin were acquired by the Spurs in the entire transaction. In contrast, the Kings acquired Zach LaVine and Sidy Cissoko. Also, they gained three first-round selections (2025 CHA, 2027 SAS, 2031 MIN), and three second-round selections (2025 CHI, 2028 DEN, 2028 own back).
The Bulls received contracts from Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, and Zach Collins. This was in addition to having the top-10 picks taken away from them on their own 2025 pick through SAS. Since the Kings began considering trade proposals for Fox, there have been a lot of rumors about this transaction.
In addition, the proposition of watching Fox and Victor Wembanyama has sent the NBA world crazy. This trade comes after the epic Luka Doncic trade to Los Angeles Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis.

Rather than waiting for the summer or his 2026 free agency, the Spurs made a concerted effort to sign Fox right away since he intended to join them as his next stop. This season, Fox has averaged 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.1 assists. Given that, many fans are excited to watch the duo of Wembanyama and Fox together on the court.

The Kings and Spurs created their own explosives as the 24-hour mark approached for one of the most unexpected moves in NBA history—the Lakers’ acquisition of Luka Doncic. The deal’s obvious focal point is De’Aaron Fox, a one-time All-Star who consistently produces at an elite level. Along with Victor Wembanyama, he is bound to create tandem on the court, and the fans believe this as well.

With an average of over 25 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks per game, Wembanyama is the league’s most likely future face. Only a few days ago, the 7-foot-4 sensation received the first of many All-Star bids. Now, he will have his star counterpart by his side for the foreseeable future. The transaction will undoubtedly have an impact on the whole NBA Draft process and affect the league long-term as well.
