FC Barcelona was in a difficult spot when Ousmane Dembele decided to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. However, a year later, Barcelona supporters appeared to be breathing a sigh of relief. Last night, the Frenchman ended up ‘costing’ a win for PSG in the Champions League (UCL) against PSV Eindhoven. The 27-year-old faced heavy criticism on social media following the game.

Head coach Luis Enrique remained a frustrated figure on the touchline. The French giants dropped points for a second time in the Champions League. They are now 17th, with just 4 points in their first three League games in the UCL. Ousmane Dembele made headlines for his poor finishing as the player failed to convert two golden chances throughout the game.

Many blamed Dembele for ruining what would’ve been one of the most creative assists in the UCL. Joao Neves played Dembele through on goal in a 1v1 situation with his chest. However, the French forward skied his shot.

The other was a half volley from point-blank range, which missed the target, hit the woodwork, and went out of play. Dembele needs better consistency at the moment to help his side. His poor performances have become a topic of discussion online.

Fans turn their backs on Dembele after poor finishing vs PSV

A Barcelona fan recalled feeling betrayed when Dembele jumped ship to PSG a season ago. With that in mind, he claimed seeing Ousmane Dembele’s downfall remained delightful. Another added that nobody should trust Dembele to deliver when it matters the most and that Barcelona dodged a bullet by upgrading from him with Lamine Yamal.

A PSG support even claimed that the club should’ve scored at least four goals and that Dembele cost them big time.
