The WWE Universe hasn't taken too kindly to Karrion Kross coming up short against Sami Zayn in a hard-hitting encounter at Night of Champions.

Karrion Kross finally made it to a WWE PLE on Saturday night for the first time since 2022. He wrestled Sami Zayn at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. But despite talking a big game in the lead-up to this match, Kross bit the bullet when it mattered the most. With that, fans, in particular, don’t seem pleased with it.
As of a few hours ago, the official upload of Kross vs. Zayn on WWE’s YouTube channel had 5.5k likes against 5.7k dislikes. Moreover, the majority of the comments underneath the video voiced their dissatisfaction with The Doomsday being booked to lose in such a fashion.
Some argued that the 39-year-old should’ve dispatched the local favorite in their first one-on-one encounter to add more credence to Kross’ trash talking of Zayn in recent months. But from Zayn’s perspective, he’d feel he got a lot off his chest by putting The Harbinger of Doom in his place.

Most of the comments are from fans criticizing the result, with many saying they wanted Kross to win 👀 pic.twitter.com/44hoNSmKdh
The former Honorary Uce recently missed out on a golden opportunity to get himself in world title contention. He couldn’t beat Randy Orton in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament on SmackDown.
Had Zayn gone down to the wire to become the 2025 KOTR winner, he would’ve been entitled to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Kross mocked Zayn’s tantalizing loss, and that was the trigger point for the ex-Bloodline member. The latter snapped and punched his nemesis right across his jaw to set up their Night of Champions clash.
Scarlett drools over fans’ appreciation of Karrion Kross
Even though he might’ve lost, Karrion Kross didn’t forget to issue a note of gratitude for the fans. It’s almost like he’s made it a point to remind each and every one in the WWE Universe out there how much their support matters for someone like him. Not only Kross but also his wife, Scarlett, has applauded Saudi Arabia for being extremely receptive and welcoming towards both of them.

Scarlett posted on X that she has seen her husband give everything to this business for years. Seeing that hard work finally pay off in the form of more opportunities and recognition made The Seductive Siren of Sin emotional. The couple has wrestled together in WWE. They were last active in a feud with Madcap Moss and Emma in 2023.
I’ve watched Kross give everything.

For years. For this.
Saudi Arabia, you saw him. You felt him. You respected him. And as someone who knows what he’s worth THANK YOU.

Speaking of what could be next for Kross, he may continue targeting Zayn until he exposes the latter for what The Doomsday believes Zayn is – a liar. Or else, it’d be difficult for The Doom Walker to segue into a completely different rivalry. Meanwhile, Zayn has his back against the wall in his quest to become a world champion in WWE.
Karrion Kross debunks false rumors about his back body bump reluctance
Despite the recent resurgence in Karrion Kross’ popularity among the WWE Universe, the company hasn’t endowed him with fascinating feuds just yet. A recent report from Wade Keller of PW Torch claimed that the former NXT Champion wouldn’t make it big on the main roster due to the fact that he doesn’t take back body bumps that frequently in the ring.

The story did sound absurd, and Kross cleared up the air on it himself. He told The National News that the aforementioned assertions were the funniest bits of fabricated lies he’d heard about himself all week long. The New York-born wrestler added that he doesn’t pay too much heed to stuff like this, as there are a bunch of made-up theories pertaining to him on the internet.
Speaking of his WWE future, he has a few months of time left in his current deal. Moreover, he’d yet to be approached by the company for a contract renewal as of early June. There’s no update on if anything has changed on that front since the last time it was reported a few weeks ago.
