In the penultimate match of the night at NXT: No Mercy, Roxanne Perez pulled off a gutsy escape over Jaida Parker, retaining her NXT Women’s Championship. As she was basking in the adulation of the fans at the Ball Arena in Denver, the lights went off. The hearts were racing, curious to know what was next. Emanating from a smokescreen was the former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, Giulia.

She made the long walk down that aisle to make a beeline for Perez, who was out of sorts. Giulia entered the ring and came face-to-face with the NXT Women’s Champion. They had a dramatic staredown before the cameras rolled off. Now that was some debut for Giulia, who for months was touted as the hottest free agent on the circuit.

Back in April, the real-life Gloria Matsudo was brought over to the United States by WWE to have her attend NXT Stand & Deliver. She even received a massive ovation from fans in attendance when her name popped up on the jumbotron. In one of her recent interviews, the 30-year-old revealed that she was awestruck at that point and didn’t even realize that the crowd went bonkers for her only, not for The Rock, as she initially thought.

Quite understandably so, the English-born Italian wrestler wasn’t acclimatized to being amidst such a capacity crowd. However, now that she’s arrived in WWE, Matsudo will have to get used to handling that pressure.

No Mercy was only the beginning. She’s all but confirmed to be next in line for Roxanne Perez, who’s on a run of her lifetime right now. The 22-year-old claims to be the best women’s champion NXT has ever seen. But she may have her work cut out as there’s a new challenger in town.

Fans are over the moon with Giulia making her highly-anticipated WWE debut

With the impending debut of Giulia now complete, it has the fans rolling on social media. Most of them are claiming that the NXT women’s division isn’t prepared for what’s about to strike them.

One fan even said that she’s truly the biggest free agent acquisition that’s been done of late, even rating her higher than Mercedes Mone going to AEW. Others are already saying that Giulia is only the first of three recent big signings to have debuted on WWE television.

The rest of the two include Stephanie Vaquer and Delta. There’s an abundance of optimism about Giulia making it big in WWE given that she’s equipped with all the tools required. Fans are also happy that WWE didn’t change her name and have pretty much retained the presentation.
