Carlos Alcaraz loosened up his muscles ahead of his first-round match at the Paris Olympics. As the number two seed, the Spaniard led the bottom half of the draw and started the first day with a roaring victory.
With the Olympics underway, Alcaraz is set to play both singles and doubles. Due to this, he had to play both of his matches yesterday (July 27th). In singles, he defeated his first-round opponent Hady Habib 6-3, 6-2.
However, moments before this first-round match, a video of him stretching went viral online. The youngster was loosening up his back and leg muscles before the big event, but fans made hilarious connections to something entirely different.
A few days earlier, Alcaraz had posed for a picture surrounded by female athletes at the Olympic Village. He was teased for this, and even commentators mentioned it during his match. Fans quickly connected his stretching video to that picture, trolling him even more.

On the sports side of things, Alcaraz started his campaign with a comfortable win against the Lebanese ace. He had a huge night ahead of him to play both singles and doubles. Luckily, he won both those matches and secured places in the next rounds.
Fans laugh at Carlos Alcaraz’s viral stretching video
Alcaraz’s singles match was a non-surprising victory. In the kind of form he is in, the victory was very much expected. However, all the focus was on his doubles match alongside Rafael Nadal, who had taped his right thigh.

Carlos Alcaraz, current favorite of the Olympic Village, was caught on cameras stretching before his first singles match. However, netizens decided to make the most of that moment and trolled him for that as well. Here are a few of those comments:
He’s already been doing that plenty the past few days.

Nadal and Alcaraz were up against Argentina’s top doubles players Andres Molteni and Maximo Gonzalez. They were ranked as World No.6 and it was a tough matchup for the Spaniard who were set to play their first doubles match together. At the start, Alcaraz showed a bit of nerves but grew into the match to support his teammate and secure the win.
They won the first set in the tie-break and the actual challenge came in the second set when they were three games down. However, they broke right back and eventually won the match 7-6(4), 6-4.
