Stars like Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero remains sidelined for months due to injuries. Now, to make matters worse, one of their bright players Moe Wagner also suffered a season-ending injury as reported by ESPN journalist Shams Charania.
According to the Sentinel, Wagner had an MRI on Sunday, and the results showed that his left knee’s ACL was torn. The team announced in a statement that Wagner will have surgery and miss the rest of the 2024–25 campaign. The status update was first reported by Charania. It’s devastating for Orlando and Wagner alike. Additionally, it’s the Magic player’s most recent chronic injury.
Moe Wagner’s recent injury will surely be a big blow to the Magic and their fans. He was performing admirably this NBA season and stepped up for his side in big matchups. Wagner, who was second in the NBA in total points off the bench, averaged 12.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 18.8 minutes and was a serious contender for Sixth Man of the Year.

In addition to F. Wagner and Paolo Banchero, Gary Harris has also missed the last 11 games due to a strained left hamstring. Despite those injuries and Jalen Suggs‘s sprained right ankle, which prevented him from playing on Saturday, the Magic (18-12) overcame the Heat by a 25-point margin to end a three-game losing streak.
Next, the Orlando Magic will play the Heat at home on Thursday once again after hosting the reigning champion Boston Celtics on Monday.

Just two players, including Anthony Black, have played in all 30 of Orlando’s games this season. Moe Wagner was one of them. Wagner participated in 80 of the Magic’s regular season games last season, which was a career-high. Now, all attention will shift onto the German’s recovery going forward into the season.
