Barcelona’s well-documented financial troubles continue as their head coach, Hansi Flick still hopes with bated breath about the introduction of Dani Olmo in the starting XI. In a recent off-load, the Catalans let go of Ilkay Gundogan to get themselves financial stability. However, they have somehow fallen short of the amount that is needed to register Olmo.

Dani Olmo finds himself at the receiving end of a similar situation that saw Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez stranded similarly, a year ago. For the unversed, Barcelona had spent north of La Liga’s excess limit which left Olmo still waiting for his appearance in the latest edition of the Spanish Premier League.

Despite the departure of Gundogan, Barcelona will still need to raise more revenue and clear their wage bills to accommodate the Spanish midfielder into their attacking echelons. Barcelona’s new coach, Hansi Flick was mighty impressed with what he saw from the youngster. His calm and goal-scoring ability under the pump is what has impressed Flick even more.

According to the reports, Gundogan’s transfer to Manchester City was a massive help for the Catalans while Victor Roque’s imminent loan move to Real Betis is thought to be another significant shift towards their goal. However, the pending transfer of Mikayil Faye to Rennes is what is leaving Barcelona in a tight spot, a move that they will try and secure at the earliest.

Here is what X had to say about Barcelona’s current financial situation

Barcelona started off with a victory against Valencia in the latest edition of La Liga. They will be hoping to edge past their arch-rivals, Real Madrid in the long race to glory. At the time of writing, Dani Olmo was still not registered which has left the fans somewhat believing that he may not be playing the vital clash against Atletico.

As the wait for Olmo to get registered simply gets prolonged with every passing minute and day, fans have taken to X, to express their frustration at the lackluster management of the club. With the miscalculations rising, the last few years have seen the Catalans struggling and this latest development about Olmo is just another testimony.

Whether the introduction of the Spanish midfielder will bring about any significant changes or not, time shall reveal. However, at this point, unless Barcelona is getting their financial difficulties sorted as indicated by their president, Joan Laporta a few weeks ago, their problems will only be rising.
