Fans humorously reacted to a video of Atletico Madrid’s new signing, Robin Le Normand, playing the piano, to announce his arrival. The Spanish center-back joins Atletico from rival La Liga side Real Sociedad.
Atletico Madrid welcomed Le Normand on social media with a video in which the footballer appears playing the piano to Tom Odell’s song ‘Another Love,’ which later transitions into the club anthem. Known for his piano skills, the Spaniard revealed that he practices after returning home from training. Moreover, he was part of Spain’s Euro 2024 winning squad, making six appearances and starting in the final.
The 27-year-old center-back joins the Colchoneros after signing a five-year long contract, for a transfer fee of €34.5 million from Real Sociedad. During his six-year tenure at Sociedad, he played 221 matches and scored six goals. Le Normand will now be Atletico’s primary center-back alongside Jose Maria Gimenez and Mario Hermoso. Moreover, it is a position the club had to reinforce owing to poor performances and Stefan Savic‘s departure.
