Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are set to face Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Manchester City in the group stages of the new look UEFA Champions League, leaving fans surprised. They also shared their reactions to images of PSG president Nasser-Al-Khelaifi‘s ‘shocked’ response to the UCL fixtures.
The Parisian club have been handed a tough draw in the revamped 36-team UEFA Champions League. Apart from these three sides, the French side will also face competition from Atletico Madrid, Girona, Salzburg, PSV Eindhoven and Stuttgart to make it through to the knock-out stages of the competition. Out of the eight matches, the Les Parisiens will play four of them at home.
Luis Enrique’s side will have to be at their best during the UCL, and will surely miss their skipper and top-scorer Kylian Mbappe, who departed to join Real Madrid this summer. The 25-year-old former PSG striker had scored 64 goals in seven seasons in the European competition. The onus now falls upon youngsters Bradley Barcola, Randal Kolo Muani, Goncalo Ramos and Ousmane Dembele. PSG have spent €170 million on transfers this summer, bringing in Joao Neves, Willian Pacho and Desire Doue.
