Lamine Yamal is seven years younger than Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian is the favorite to lift the 2024 Ballon d’Or, after a brilliant season with Real Madrid. However, the Champions League winner has come under significant criticism for being unable to replicate his performances for the national team.

Recently, social media came to the conclusion that Lamine Yamal plays ‘better’ on the international stage. With an assist against Switzerland in the early minutes of the game, Yamal now has twelve contributions for La Roja, at least two more than what the Real Madrid man has for Brazil.

Vinicius was heavily trolled on social media after his most recent outing with the national team. The player failed to make a single goal contribution as Rodrygo Goes scored the only goal of the game.

Vinicius has only managed to accumulate 10 goal contributions in 34 games. Brazil play their next game on Tuesday, against Paraguay before club football resumes.

Fans laugh at Vinicius Jr. for falling behind Lamine Yamal

FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is one of the best young talents in Europe. After a long and successful season with Spain at the Euros, the player has picked up right from where he left off. With an assist in the early minutes against Switzerland, Yamal helped his side clinch a 4-1 victory. Recently, the player also made headlines when head coach Luis de la Fuente ‘refused’ to rest him in order to help Barcelona.

A fan commented that Vinicius Jr. should hide his head in shame for being beaten by a player seven years younger than him. Another said that the Madrid man doesn’t deserve the Ballon d’Or if he only performs at club level. As the discussion went on, few even compared the two players, with a significant proportion voting for the Spaniard.

Vinicius has made three goal contributions since the start of the season for Madrid, and also gave up a chance to take a penalty, handing it to Kylian Mbappe. As for Yamal, it is ‘worrisome’ that a 17-year-old is being used in every single game without being rested. Given what happened to Barca teammates Gavi and Pedri, it is clear why fans are worried about the same.
