“On track to lose another title” – Fans laugh at Cristiano Ronaldo as Al-Nassr fall 2-1 to Al-Qadisiyah despite No.7’s goal

A solitary goal from Cristiano Ronaldo was not enough to inspire Al-Nassr to victory over Al-Qadisiyah in the Saudi Pro League.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr ended up on the wrong side of the score line in their most recent outing in the Saudi Pro League. The Faris Najd hosted Al-Qadisiyah on Friday as a goal from Ronaldo proved to be too little spur the hosts to victory.

Goals from Julian Quinones and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped the visitors claim an important three points on the night. Cristiano Ronaldo started the game strongly, with a powerful left-footed shot forcing a save from Koen Casteels in the first minute. After several spurned chances from either side, Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. The 39-year-old was the fastest to react as Casteels dropped the ball inside the penalty area.

Despite celebrating his 911th goal of his career, fans of the superstar were in for disappointment. Al-Nassr‘s lead vanished within five minutes as Julian Quinones pulled his side level with an impressive half-volley from close range.

Former Arsenal and Barcelona man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finally grabbed the winner for the visitors in the 50th minute from a diving header in front of goal. Following the loss, Al-Nassr are now six points from the top of the Saudi Pro League.

Fans react to Al-Nassr’s frustrating loss to Al-Qadisiyah

As Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal failed to inspire victory for Al-Nassr, a fan commented that the veteran has ‘no help’ at the club. In response, supporters stated that fans always turn on the club after a defeat. Others thanked former culer Aubameyang for his winner, pointing to how he gave Barcelona fans another reason to smile.

In addition to the same, a fan laughed at how Ronaldo himself ended up having an emergency (loss) on the day which he reached 911 goals. With the gap to Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad widening, fans mocked Ronaldo and the club for missing out on a major title yet again.

Some even said that despite all the goals scored, Ronaldo’s time at Al-Nassr has been a ‘failure’. Teammate Abdulrahman Ghareeb missed an open goal in the first half, which would’ve seen Al-Nassr open the scoring as early as in the 22nd minute. Despite all the criticism, Ronaldo has managed to bag 7 goals and 2 assists in 10 League outings. In the International break, Ronaldo scored two goals and set up another in a 5-1 win over Poland.
