Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele received most of the blame as the Frenchman saw red in a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

Things just went from bad to worse for Luis Enrique‘s Paris Saint-Germain as his side faced Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena. The Ligue 1 giants were unable to find the net in 90 minutes against Vincent Kompany‘s side, as the loss leaves PSG stranded in 25th position!

As things stand, the Parisiens only have four points in total and need a ‘miracle’ to salvage their season. With several missed chances in either half, PSG only has itself to blame.

The likes of Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola attempted a total of just two shots on target, with neither failing to really trouble veteran keeper Manuel Neuer. The hosts took the lead in the 38th minute from an unlikely source, as Min-jae Kim headed home from a corner.

The South Korean centre back was in pole position to head home as PSG keeper Matvey Safonov failed to gather the ball from a corner. Already on the back foot, Dembele added to the visitors’ frustration after picking up a red card. The Frenchman was handed his marching orders for a second yellow as he recklessly brought down Alphonso Davies with a lunging tackle.

Sat in 25th position with just one win in five Champions League games, not many believe that PSG can make an impact in Europe this season. However, almost all of the blame fell on one particular player, Ousmane Dembele.

The 27-year-old was made fun of by many, with a fan ridiculing him for failing to replace Neymar Jr. at two separate clubs. Another angry fan named Dembele the most frustrating player to watch, while another thanked PSG for taking him off of Barcelona’s hands.

A surprising statistic showed that Dembele completed zero dribbles against Bayern Munich, with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer having more! Ironically, it was Dembele who the 38-year-old dribbled past inside his own penalty area.

PSG’s next game in the Champions League is against RB Salzburg, who are sat four spots below. In contrast to the club’s form in Europe, PSG leads the race in the French top flight. With 32 points from a possible 36 in 12 games, it is difficult to picture why the Parisians are struggling in Europe.

Will Luis Enrique inspire a valiant comeback in the second half of the season or will the former Barcelona boss face the sack? Only time will tell.
