“He’s 100% going to AEW”- Wrestling fans predict 47-year-old veteran’s next move as his WWE contract set to expire soon

A former 2-time WWE Champion hasn’t been on TV since going down to Cody Rhodes in an ‘I Quit’ match at Clash at the Castle. And his name is AJ Styles. The fans have started to rue his absence on SmackDown, especially when the blue brand’s feeling the pinch of a shallow mid-card roster. Amidst his prolonged hiatus, there’s now a defining update on his contractual status with WWE.

His ongoing deal with the company expires late this year, or early 2025, Fightful Select reports. Last week, the outlet gave a sneak peek into Styles’ physical well-being, noting that he’s healthy. It’s just the matter of WWE not factoring him into storylines at the moment.

The 47-year-old was recently used on the WWE European Tour, wherein AJ competed on five consecutive nights. But it’s high time he circled his way back to being a regular feature on television. The fans have started to admit that Styles is spending way too much time on the sidelines. That being in what could be his final years as a pro wrestler.

In one of his previous interviews, The Phenomenal One confirmed that he’s running out of time real quick, with his impending retirement merely a tussle between his body and brain. At this point, it’s unclear whether he’ll re-sign with WWE after his current obligations are fulfilled. Back in May, Styles showed interest in a potential match with The Rock down the line.

However, that’d only intrigue him if the Hollywood actor were to turn babyface with The Georgia Pitbull, embodying a full-blown evil character, saying he doesn’t want to be a mediocre bad guy. This feud might be on a number of fans’ bingo cards.

Fans manifest AEW debut for AJ Styles saying his WWE career has run its course

If AJ Styles chooses not to sign a new contract with WWE, he’d be a free agent ushering into the new year. If that does happen, the playing field would be left wide open for other companies to chime in and bid for The Phenomenal One.

Social media is already buzzing with the endless possibilities for Styles if he decides to call it quits on his WWE career. Although there are many who believe that he wouldn’t end up leaving, a good portion of fans think there’s never been a better chance for Styles to join AEW.

Arguments state that the former OC leader has done it all in WWE and there’s nothing left for him to accomplish there. Meanwhile, if he join forces with Tony Khan‘s promotion, that’d open a wide array of fresh feuds, including one with Kenny Omega.
