When the 2024 NFL season started, the New Orleans Saints were one of the hottest teams. Then they lost their next three games, but also crucially lost quarterback Derek Carr to injury. The next most important player on the team, Alvin Kamara, then had a slight contract tussle, which was eventually solved. That gives them some respite going forward.

With Carr still not ready, Kamara becomes the focus of the offense. They have four winnable games until their bye in Week 12. If the superstar running back can get them through at least a couple of wins before his QB returns, it will be good for their playoff hopes.

The New Orleans Saints came to a compromise and signed Alvin Kamara to a two-year $24.5 million extension. That contract will see him play up until the 2026 season, giving the offense some stability. But NFL Insider Dov Kleiman released some news on his X account that has fans concerned.

The former All-Pro is considered one of the best in the game for his unique skills. He has great contact balance and elusiveness to aid in the passing game. Both skills have helped him lead the Saints’ rushing attack for years.

He is also well known to play through injury, but a broken hand can have a detrimental performance. It may hinder his ability to play to his best. His receiving yards may be up this season, but his rushing yards prove that he is not playing to his best.

Only when he feels he needs to rest does he take himself out. He is a standout player, nevertheless, who just wants to keep winning.
