Arne Slot‘s out-of-control reaction to Everton’s last-gasp equalizer against Liverpool, in a heated Premier League encounter between the two sides, grabbed attention on social media. The two sides engaged in a thrilling match, which ended with a 2-2 scoreline.
The match was marred by controversy, as the Merseyside clubs faced each other for the last time at Everton’s iconic 133-year old home stadium, Goodison Park. It sparked chaotic scenes, as fans spilled onto the pitch after the full-time whistle. Moreover, Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones were also sent off after the end of the match, over a scuffle in front of the visiting fans.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot was the least impressed of the lot. He questioned referee Michael Oliver‘s decisions throughout the match. He was ultimately red-carded, along with his assistant Sipke Hulshoff, for his angry confrontation with Oliver, during the post-match handshake. The Dutchman has also been slapped with a two-match ban for his actions.

Arne Slot’s reaction to Everton’s second goal in the 98th minute is what grabbed attention. The 46-year-old screamed in agony, and expressed his dissatisfaction with Liverpool’s slip-up in the final minutes. James Tarkowski‘s late equalizer was also not bereft of controversy. VAR officials conducted a check to determine whether the goal was offside or not, as well as a potential foul in the build-up.
